Motorists and pedestrians alike who traveled on highway #7 by #15 were greeted by a pleasant and patriotic sight at the entrance of Carleton Place. A 24 x 12-foot floral Canadian flag made up of 1,344 flowers (petunias) awaited those who made the journey to this historical valley town.
The flag was the brainchild of Carleton Place councilor and businessman, Gary Strike. Strike is well known for his many patriotic endeavors over the years, with the floral flag being one of the most visible. The project was sponsored by Strike King Ideas and Promotions.
