Born and raised in Arnprior, Gary’s background and experience as a retail manager and self-employed advertiser has paid off in dividends for the Town of Carleton Place and beyond, especially with his passion for national unity and the many flag projects he has created and promoted in the interest of all Canadians.
Gary first joined political life in the early eighties and has served four terms as councillor in Carleton Place prior to being recently re-elected for the fifth time.
With his wife Valerie, and their four children, Shannon, married to Chantelle, two grand children, Sierra and Hayden, son Ben, living in Carleton Place, Rob, married to Eren, living in Kingston, daughter Stacey, living in Australia, all have been good citizens of the town of Carleton Place and continue to stay current with the dynamics of the community.
Gary is best known for his hard work and dedication to his constituents and has championed many important projects as Town Councillor. Gary believes in providing quality public services at a cost taxpayers can afford. He has worked tirelessly during budget deliberations to ensure services important to the public are adequately funded and that taxes are minimized. He has been recognized as an effective leader who is credited with successfully leading the charge to keep taxes low.
